It was started back in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare, an animal welfare and conservation charity based in Canada.
How do people celebrate International Cat Day?
It’s largely celebrated online with people posting cat memes, photos and videos – so, pretty much like any regular day! Some animal charities take the opportunity to get involved and promote their work. And of course, it would be a great day to visit a cat cafe! 🐱
